2005 PGA Grand Slam winner - Tiger Woods
In 2005, Tiger won his 6th Grand Slam Title in 7 appearances at Poipu Bay.

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the season-ending showcase featuring golf’s premier foursome, returns for its 13th straight year at Poipu Bay Golf Course and 14th year on Kauai.

The 36-hole stroke-play event was broadcast last year to a TNT worldwide audience of 89 million U.S. homes and an international audience of more than 100 countries in a prime-time telecast.

Winners of the year’s Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship will compete on the 7,123- yard, par-72 Robert Trent Jones Jr. layout that has yielded some of golf’s most memorable shot-making moments of the past several years.

This year’s purse will also increase to $1.25 million with the winner receiving $500,000, second place $300,000, third place $250,000 and fourth place $200,000.

Should a player win more than one major championship this season, the foursome will be completed through a Major Champions Points List composed of past major champions who compete in the current year’s majors.

2005 featured a marquee field of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Michael Campbell, and Vijay Singh last year, experienced double-digit growth in key demographics for TNT's 15th consecutive year of televising the invitation only tournament.

It is considered golf's most difficult tournament to qualify for, because the four slots are reserved for winners of the year's major tournaments: British Open, U.S. Open, Masters and PGA Championship.
